Terms of Service

Who we are. OctoDrones is a trading name of Kraken Group Pty Ltd (ABN 89 691 134 728), an Australian company based in Tasmania ("OctoDrones", "we", "us"). These terms cover octodrones.com.au and our products: Drone Check, Label Check, Mission Control Center and the Book drone work service. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.

1. Mission Control Center subscriptions

• Every new account starts with a 30-day free trial. No payment details are needed to start, and nothing is charged during the trial.
• The subscription is priced per aircraft, monthly or yearly, plus GST, at the rates shown when you subscribe (the rate per aircraft steps down as your fleet grows). Your aircraft count comes from the RPAS list in your own Record templates. Adding an aircraft increases the subscription from that day (pro-rata); removing one reduces it.
• If you save a card during the trial, the first charge happens the day the trial ends. Billing then continues monthly until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time through Manage billing. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
• Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice to your account email. A change applies from your first billing date after the notice period; if you do not want to continue at the new price, cancel before then and access runs to the end of the period you have paid for.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details go directly from your browser to Stripe — they never touch our servers.

2. Your records, your responsibility

• Your records are yours. You can download a complete export — every record as PDFs, plus your attachments and raw data — at any time from Settings.
• If your trial lapses or your subscription ends, your records remain available for download for 30 days. After that they are permanently deleted. We are under no obligation to retain records for accounts that are not subscribed — export your records before the deadline.
• Mission Control Center is a record-keeping and operations tool. You remain solely responsible for your compliance with CASA regulations, including the accuracy and completeness of your records and any record-retention obligations that apply to your operation. Using our software does not transfer any of those obligations to us.
• Aircraft syncing connects to your manufacturer account (such as DJI) using credentials you provide, and you authorise us to fetch your flight data on your behalf. The records we build depend on the data your aircraft and its manufacturer make available.

3. Drone Check and Label Check

• Drone Check and Label Check are free informational tools, provided as-is.
• Airspace information related to Australia is not approved under Australian Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 175 (CASR Part 175), is advisory only, and is not to be used for the purpose of air navigation. Drone Check is not a CASA-verified drone safety app; CASA verification reopens for new apps when Airservices' Flight Information Management System (FIMS) launches.
• Drone Check draws from official and public sources — NOTAMs and briefing data from Airservices Australia, government weather models, CASA rule sets. What no online service can guarantee is delivery: an outage or delay anywhere between those sources and your screen can leave information incomplete or stale. The pilot in command remains responsible for their own pre-flight briefing.
• Label Check presents label information for products registered with the APVMA. Always read the actual product label before using any chemical.
• The pilot in command is responsible for every flight decision. The chemical user is responsible for every application decision. These tools inform your decisions; they do not make them, and we accept no liability for decisions made using them.

4. Book drone work

• Submitting a job request is an enquiry, not a contract. Any work is agreed separately between you and the operator who takes the job.
• We may place your job with a trusted operator in our network. The details you provide — your contact details, the work sites you draw, and your job description and attachments — are shared with the operator who takes the job.
• Referred and shared jobs between operators. Operators can refer jobs to each other through Mission Control Center. A referred job is an offer: nothing transfers until the receiving operator accepts it, and on acceptance the job, its records and its customer links move to the receiving operator. Referrals are free. OctoDrones charges nothing on either side for a referred job. A job may also be offered as a shared job: both operators hold the job, the nominated percentage split is recorded on both sides, and settling the job revenue between the operators remains a matter between them. Job statuses must reflect the true state of the work.

5. Accounts

• The account owner controls who has access and at what level, and is responsible for the people they add and for keeping logins secure.
• We may suspend or close accounts used unlawfully, abusively, or in a way that harms the service or other users.

6. The service

• Your records are the point of this product, and we look after them accordingly. Like any online service, we cannot promise uninterrupted availability — and your complete export is always one click away in Settings, so a copy of your records is never out of your reach.
• Features may be added or improved at any time. Updates are included in every subscription.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to re-supplying the service or refunding the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for flight, chemical or operational decisions made by you or your personnel.

8. General

These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia. We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be notified to your account email, and continued use of the service after a change means you accept it.
