Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information OctoDrones — a trading name of Kraken Group Pty Ltd (ABN 89 691 134 728) — collects across octodrones.com.au, Drone Check, Label Check, Mission Control Center and Book drone work, and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what the services need to work, we never sell it, and there is no advertising tracking anywhere.

What we collect

• Account details — business name, your name, email and phone number, and the operational details you choose to enter in Mission Control Center, such as pilot names, ARNs, licences, endorsements and signatures.
• Operational records — the records your account creates and syncs: flight records, spray coverage, batteries, checklists, safety assessments, maintenance logs, weather captures, documents and attachments.
• Aircraft sync credentials — the manufacturer-account credentials you provide (such as a DJI account) are used to fetch your flight data on your behalf, and for nothing else.
• Booking enquiries — when someone books drone work: their name, contact details, the work sites they draw, their job description and any files they attach.
• Payments — handled by Stripe. Card numbers go directly from your browser to Stripe and never touch our servers; we store only your subscription status and Stripe’s reference identifiers.
• Technical basics — standard server logs (IP address, request times) used for security and troubleshooting. Our sites use cookies only to keep you logged in; there is no advertising or analytics tracking.

How we use it

• To run the services: building your records, syncing your aircraft, processing bookings, showing your booking website, billing your subscription.
• To send service emails: booking confirmations, download codes, billing notices, and important changes to the service or these policies.
• We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

When information is shared

• Stripe, our payment processor, for subscriptions.
• The operator who takes your job: a Book drone work enquiry, including your contact details and work sites, goes to the operator who takes the job. Likewise, when an operator transfers a job to another operator, the job’s details, records and customer links move to the receiving operator.
• Aircraft manufacturers: syncing necessarily communicates with your manufacturer’s platform (such as DJI) using your own account.
• We disclose information if the law requires it. That is the whole list.

Operators and their customers

Each business running Mission Control Center controls its own customers’ information — their enquiries, work sites and job records. We host that information on the operator’s behalf. If you are a customer of an OctoDrones-powered operator, your relationship is with that operator; contact them first about their records of you.

How long we keep it

• While an account is active, its records are kept so the service can do its job.
• If a trial lapses or a subscription ends, the account’s records remain available for download for 30 days and are then permanently deleted.
• Some minimal records outlive deletion where the law requires it — for example, payment and tax records.

Security

Traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, private data is stored outside the web-accessible part of our servers, access is role-controlled, and card handling is delegated entirely to Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we build so that the sensitive path is the short one.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time by emailing info@octodrones.com.au — and operators can export every record themselves from Settings. If you believe we have mishandled your information and we cannot resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

Updates to this policy are posted on this page, and material changes are notified to account emails.
